On website design

I'm not a website designer. I really ain't. I can do okay work, and I know my way around Photoshop (though god knows, don't even get me close to Illustrator at the moment) but I just ain't good at it. I need to learn more CSS and to understand how it really works together with HTML (though from the looks of it, it's pretty easy actually). I don't do Flash. At all.

I'm an analzyer, a strategist. I figure out the products that sell, why they sell, how to sell it and what price points. I can look at the google analytics and really figure it out that way, but otherwise, I get by.

Still, owning a board games website that is running really tight means I do have to do everything myself. Thus the redesign. Let's hope things work out, we'll have to see. In a few days, we'll see if it affects our sales at all. I'm hoping so... but who knows eh?

First ever pres release

Yup, I sent out our first ever press release on our back to school sale for the website.

God knows, I've done press releases before during my years as a PR consultant, but I've never really had to do one for my own biz.

Seriously? I don't expect much pick-up but if it does get picked up or dumped into some file somewhere for SEO purposes, I won't complain. Every little bit helps over the long-term after all...

And who knows? I might get a lot more than a little.
